Welcome to St. Thomas' Nursery School!
St. Thomas’ Nursery School was founded in 1951 to serve children in the congregation and the community. At the nursery school we value each child as a unique creation of God, and strive to promote the growth of the whole child — social, emotional, cognitive and spiritual.
The staff strives to develop positive attitudes about the learning process by encouraging children to explore and discover, to ask questions, to respond to others, to be responsible, to problem solve, to create, to enjoy books and to actively play. These experiences help children to conceptualize their world and lay the foundation for sound learning.
Our program consists of four classrooms: Two Year Olds, Three Year Olds, Four Year Old PreK and Five Year Old PreK. For the 2008-2009 school year we have full enrollment in all classes.
Our regular school hours are 9:00am –12:00Noon daily with an extended hours program that offers 8:00am-9:00am early drop-off and 12:00Noon —3:00pm daily lunch program. The extended hours program is an additional charge at an hourly rate. Children participate in cooking class, music class, and our monthly chapel program as well as the regular classroom program.
The Nursery School also offers a summer camp program which runs during June and July each summer.
Tours of the Nursery School are given year round. Please call the school office at 215-233-2923 to schedule a tour. Registration begins in January for the following September.
