Case Statement for Annual Giving 2007

Members of St. Thomas’ are encouraged to give their time, talent and treasures. It is through faithful stewardship of the gifts God has given us that we are able to carry out our responsibility to follow Christ, to come together week-by-week for corporate worship and to work, pray and give for the spread of the kingdom of God.

Pledging is an opportunity to participate in Christian stewardship. At St. Thomas’, we are asked to make a financial pledge to the life and work of the parish community. The pledge can be made at any time during the year using the cards available in the Narthex. The annual "Every Member Pledge" campaign is conducted in October. During the campaign we are asked to reflect seriously on all that God has made possible for us.

The financial pledge should reflect our sense of priorities. The advantage of pledging is that it becomes a thoughtful gift on our part rather than a simple rendering of what is left over, first fruits instead of gleanings.
