How to Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk
January 11-February 15 ~ This popular and fun "how to" book offers marvelous skills with dealing with the uncertainties that parenting brings. Parents of young children have used the skills to enlist cooperation and curb whining. Parents of adolescents have used the skills to navigate ethical and moral challenges. Much camaraderie and hilarity will be shared. We’ll also reflect on how our understanding of God as parent affects our own parenting style. 10:45-11:45am, Parish House Living Room
Cancer-Reflections on Psalm 23
January 11-March 29 ~ The 23rd Psalm has long been a source of comfort for Christians. In this video and discussion series participants will have the chance to discuss how God's comfort is known to them through this scripture. Those who are currently battling cancer and those who have close friends or family that are battling the disease are invited to attend. This will be an EVENING small group running for 12 weeks. 4:00-5:30pm, Parish House Living Room
Parent's Guide to Prayer
March 1-March 22 ~ How do you teach your child to pray? This book and discussion is designed to help parents translate their abilities into prayer actions their children can grasp. Since each of us has a preferred prayer style, come learn a variety of styles so that you can be the spiritual teacher that you want to be, a position that your children have already ascribed to you. 10:45-11:45am, Parish House Living Room
The Practice of Prayer
March 1-March 22 ~ “In this down-to-earth book on the essentials of prayer, Margaret Guenther answers many of the common questions of the spiritual life, such as How do we learn to listen to God in our prayer? And, How do we develop a life of prayer in the midst of busy, active lives?” This small group will read from the above book and discuss the content as a Lenten discipline. This is a wonderful preparation for hearing Margaret Guenther speak when she is here in the Rector’s Forum on March 29. EVENINGS 4:00-5:30pm, Resource Room
Gardening as a Spiritual Exercise
April 19 and 26 ~ Is working in the garden a spiritual exercise for you? Do you find yourself nurtured in your relationship with the Divine? These women can answer your gardening questions and share some of the spiritual aspects of working with the earth. 10:45-11:45am, Location: TBD
