EXPLORER'S BIBLE STUDY
Led by The Rev. Stanley Johnson
This co-ed group meets once-a-week to discuss the Gospel According to John. This gospel is filled with images and metaphors that have shaped our experience of Christ in ways dramatically different than the other gospels. For example, did you know that all of the suggested gospel readings for the funeral service come from the Gospel According to John? Come experience the vibrancy of these stories. Wednesdays at 11:00am in Haas Hall.
WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDIES
“Exploring the Book of Acts” These Bible study groups will read the Book of Acts, the account of the early church and Paul’s missionary travels around the Mediterranean Sea. Using maps, Bible dictionaries, various commentaries, and sharing our own ideas and thoughts; we will work together to understand the text, and to discover what it means for us today. There is no homework. All are welcome!

Fridays 9:30am-11:00am

“Beginning with the Gospels” This Bible study group will use the book by Dr. Sharmon that sets the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke side by side for easy comparison. The group is asked to read about the Life of Jesus recorded in these Gospels as if they know nothing about the story. Come with an open mind ready to discover as we read. There is no homework. All are welcome!

EDUCATION FOR MINISTRY (EFM)
EFM is an extension program out of Sewanee University of the South Seminary. It is a 35-week program of Bible study, church history, and theology that actually takes 4 years to complete, although the participant need sign up for only one year at a time, and may make the decision each year whether or not to continue. If the participant chooses not to do the following year for some reason, it is possible for that person to return later to continue the program. It is a belief-challenging, faith-growing curriculum, with a wide variety of aspects of Christianity to consider. The group holds all that happens during the meetings confidential, and we bond as we celebrate, commiserate, mourn and rejoice with one another. There is always good food and much laughter. Mondays, 7-10 p.m., September 11 to mid-May, Parish House Living Room; led by Kate Ferguson. Mondays at 7:00 p.m.
CONGRATULATIONS EFM 2007 Graduates!

In times past we have had programs on such topics as 1) important, but not well-known, men of the Bible (like Joseph of Arimathea or Nicodemus) and 2) the relationship between ethics and our daily lives. The meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and are held in MacColl Auditorium in the Parish Hall. Please contact the Parish Office at 215-233-3970 for more details.
