VISION STATEMENT

OUR VALUES

The enduring character of St. Thomas’ Church inspires our Vision and is embedded in these values we hold dear:

To be a vital Christian community striving to keep God first in our lives, carry out the ministry of Christ and be open to the Holy Spirit at work among us.

To live out our Baptismal Covenant to continue in the Apostles’ teachings, persevere in resisting evil, proclaim by word and example the Good New, seek and serve Christ in all persons, and strive for justice and peace.

To contribute the wide variety of God-given gifts to support each other, help those in need, and sustain our Church.

To serve as creative stewards of our beautiful, historic site on the hill because it sustains us, refreshes us and empowers us to share God’s love in the world.

OUR GOAL

We will grow our Sunday worship attendance 50% by 2010!  In the process, we will become an even more inspired, active, generous and worship-centered Episcopal community sharing God’s love in the world.

OUR CHALLENGE

To achieve our Goal, we will need God’s grace and guidance, leadership, resources, courage, a culture of abundance and an inspired congregation willing to transform our Goal and Values into our envisioned future.  With the participation of each parishioner, we can, and with God’s help we will, achieve the future envisioned below.

OUR FUTURE

Inspired Worship/Spiritual Sanctuary:
Every pew at our Eucharistically-centered, musically-inspired worship services will be filled with parishioners who are spiritually nurtured by the Word of God and find renewal with their brothers and sisters in Christ.

Welcoming, Vibrant Community:
As a spiritually-centered, compassionate community enlivened by the Holy Spirit, we will be a welcoming, vibrant congregation with a strong sense of belonging.

Creative Stewardship/Self-sustaining Ministries:
We will naturally, joyfully and abundantly donate our time, talent, and treasure to enrich our ministries so they are self-sustaining, continuous beacons of hope which brighten the lives of those in need.
