Sister Barbara Jean Brown

Sister BJ joined the staff of St. Thomas' Church as the Interim Children’s Ministries Coordinator on January 2, 2008 and will continue in that role through the end of May 2008. Welcome!

Sister BJ, as she is known, is serving her second term as Abbess of the  Anamchara Fellowship. She has been an Anglican Religious for over 30 years, and has spent most of that time developing an itinerant ministry of preaching and teaching. Her passion is in leading Pilgrimages to the holy islands of Great Britain, with Scotland a major focal point in those trips.

Besides her new position at St Thomas' Church as the Coordinator for Children's Ministries she is also working part time for Leader Resources, which is an on-line publishing company that produces formation curricula for children, youth and adults. Besides helping to write the curricula, Sister BJ also travels to congregations to train the church school teachers how to use them.

When she is not at home, Sister BJ travels to congregations and dioceses to lead workshops, retreats, to preach and to offer whatever support is necessary for the promotion of formation (education) ministry. The Summer of 2009 will be her next Celtic Pilgrimage to Scotland and Ireland.
