******************************

On April 28, five members of St Thomas' completed a four-year program, Education for Ministry (EFM), given through the University of the South, Sewanee Tennessee in which they learned how to think "theologically", discern their own individual ministries and how to prepare for them.

For four years the five members of St Thomas, Julie Breitenbucher, Ken Breitenbucher, Benjamin H. Linton 3rd., Ken Oliver and Gertrude Roatche, met in the Parish House Living Room under the mentoring of Kate Ferguson to study and learn about the Old Testament, New Testament, Church History and Where Philosophy meets Theology.

The course strengthens one’s own personal beliefs, awakens the desire to know more about Christian life, and where each person on the journey fits into that particular life. The participants met every Monday for 3 to 31/2 hours to discuss the lessons prepared by Sewanee, as well as the concerns regarding the lessons as they came up in their individual preparation for the seminar. During the past four years the members of the class have bonded and made wonderful friendships.

“We have grown within ourselves and can better serve the community of St Thomas,”  one of the recent graduates said.

A WELL DESERVED CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!
