New IRA Law Offers Tax Advantages When Giving to St. Thomas’ Church
An important new gift opportunity for donors age 70 ½ or older
For the first time ever, donors who are age 70 ½ or older can make gifts of up to $100,000 to St. Thomas’ Church and other charities directly from their IRAs, without including the IRA withdrawal in their taxable income. This provision, available now through December, 2007, is part of the Pension Protection Act of 2006.
Please see your IRA Administrator, attorney, or tax advisor for specific advice about making and annual pledge, planned gift or capital gift to St. Thomas’ from your IRA account.
