SUMMER CONCERTS 2008 – GRANT RECEIVED!!

The “Friends of Music/Summer Concerts” is proud to announce that St. Thomas' Church is the recipient of a $1,284 grant from the Five County Arts Fund administered by the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, a division of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Arts Council. This Foundation supports arts projects in Bucks, Montco, Delaware, Phila. and Chester counties. 

Competition for grant dollars in the arts is fierce, particularly in a major cultural arena like Philadelphia.  St. Thomas' Church was one of only 26 recipients earmarked for Montgomery County. This is the third (and largest) foundation grant that the carillon concerts has received since 2000.

To be recognized with an award from such a prestigious  arts council is a testament to the uniqueness of the summer series (featuring the carillon), the professionalism of the musical offerings and concert experience (internat'l carillonneurs, bands, choruses, dancers, etc.),  and strong community support (weekly audience numbers).    

An exciting series of community concerts, featuring the 48-bell manual carillon of St. Thomas ' Church along with other regional performing artists, will take place next summer -- don't miss it!
