Annual giving is a spiritual practice.
In addition to sharing your time and talents, giving is a way to support St. Thomas’ mission and ministries. Annual giving by members and friends makes up a significant portion of the church’s operating budget. Each Fall, we invite members to prayerfully reflect on what St. Thomas’ means to them, and to make a financial commitment for the forthcoming year.
Annual pledges enable our Vestry to plan for the year ahead.
We hope that all our members and friends will consider supporting St. Thomas’ so that we can grow in strength as a community of God as we continue to fulfill God’s mission through our church.

FAQs
-
The majority of our operating budget is funded by our members. In order to keep pace with the upkeep of our campus and activities, we need to grow our contribution level from current members and welcome new members.
In 2027, with your help, we will:
strengthen our pastoral care for our community, including a new Seniors Transportation Ministry,
grow our worship opportunities: expanded Christmas and Holy Week services; launch a Sunday service nursery for young families,
create Seniors Transportation Ministry and a nursery for young families,
sustain our assets: clergy, staff, property,
implement strategic plan initiatives proposed by members,
enhance our existing programs, including hiring a Children, Youth & Families Minister,
steward our property responsibly: church buildings, preschool safety, and a full study of our facilities to inform future priorities.
-
We invite you to also offer your spiritual gifts and time. In addition, by introducing new members to the church, you can help grow our membership. Please invite your friends and neighbors to experience the spiritual community that you love.
-
Of course, not everyone has the means to give at the same level, and the size of your gift is a personal decision. Every gift, no matter the level, is important because it sends out a strong message that you are an active member of St. Thomas’ and that you support our common mission.
-
Your giving needs reflection (What does St. Thomas’ mean to you?), prayer, and intention because it is a tangible representation of your commitment to God and to God’s work represented by St. Thomas’.
While the most significant source of giving for the church is pledges—it provides the Vestry with an estimate of expected income when preparing St. Thomas’ annual budget—we understand that not everyone is ready to commit to a pledge.
-
We understand that circumstances can change unexpectedly. Should this happen, simply contact Jillian McGowan, who will adjust your commitment accordingly.
-
Yes, a very limited number of church leadership and staff have access to giving levels and all are keenly aware of the importance of confidentiality. While we do publish donor names in our Annual Report (unless the donor(s) have asked to remain anonymous), donation amounts will never be shown.
-
We have four ways in which you can make your donation:
Make regular payments by cash or check and mail to us or drop in the collection plate with your name.
Use your bank’s online bill paying system to set up regular payments directly to St. Thomas’.
Make a secure online gift here.
Use appreciated stocks or IRA distributions to pay your pledge. If you are 72.5 years old, your mandatory IRA distributions should be fully tax deductible.
2027 Annual Giving
“We have a beautiful campus where people love to gather. Annual giving supports the maintenance of our 42 acres and that is a worthy use of my annual gift to St. Thomas’.”
—Bill P., a longtime member of St. Thomas’
