A prayerful approach to Christian giving.

G I V E

Faithful giving is an act of worship that reflects our trust in God. When we support St. Thomas’, we are participating in God’s work and we grow in generosity ourselves. Like generations of church members before us, through our donations we are sowing seeds for future ministries at St. Thomas’.

We suggest an intentional process to deciding your giving level.

Begin with prayer.

If you are not already giving—consider giving to St. Thomas’ using this link via Realm.
If you do give—consider increasing your gift level and make an Annual Gift Commitment (Pledge) payable over the year at intervals that suit you. Pledges are critical to the operation of the church as they enable us to budget with greater certainty.
If you already pledge—strive to be a proportional giver by committing to give a percentage of your income.
If you already pledge proportionally—give by incrementally increasing the proportion of your giving until you reach the Biblical standard of 10%.

Online Payments
You may make a one-time donation, set up recurring payments, or make a payment on an existing pledge online via our secure website platform, Realm.

PNC Bank does not include any identifying information with the stock gifts so it is important that you contact the office to make the church aware of your gift.
Giving Through Your IRA
For those over 70.5 years old, you may want to consider making a tax-free gift from your IRA in a transfer known as a qualified charitable distribution (“QCD”). In 2026, the limit for these kinds of charitable donations increased to $111,000 from individual IRAs. For those 73 or older, the transfer will also count toward the amount you are required to withdraw from your IRA each year (the “required minimum distribution” or “RMD”). A direct transfer from the IRA to St. Thomas’ Church satisfies the RMD while excluding the amount from a donor’s taxable income. Making a charitable donation in this way may preserve an individual’s tax bracket or the amount that Social Security benefits are subject to taxes. Please consult a financial advisor for additional information or personal advice regarding charitable contributions.
The most impactful way to leave a lasting legacy to St. Thomas’.
A planned gift is when a donor makes legal provision for St. Thomas’ church during their lifetime but the benefit does not transfer to the church until a later date — usually after the death of the donor. Planned gifts, which are separate from annual gifts, are often in the form of bequests and can be for any amount.
The 1698 Legacy Society recognizes those who have generously made plans to leave a gift to St. Thomas’ to ensure that the church’s mission and ministries continue for generations to come.
If you intend to include St. Thomas’ in your legacy planning, or have already done so and not let the church know, please complete the Commitment Form or download a printed form (PDF) and return to us, address below, so that we may acknowledge your generosity and include you in the Society’s events.

Remember or celebrate loved ones by adorning our altar with flowers.
Help our sanctuary bloom. The St. Thomas’ Flower Guild invites you to enhance our Sunday Eucharist services at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. by funding fresh altar flowers. Honor a loved one, celebrate special occasions, or give thanks to God. Your dedication will appear in the Worship Bulletin insert and Prayers of the People. After the 10:00 a.m. service, flowers are rearranged and delivered to those who are homebound, ill, or grieving.
Sign up hereor in person at the Altar Flower Board in the MacColl Auditorium lobby. The cost is $100 per Sunday. For questions, email The Rev. Kristin Waskowicz Woods.
Depending on the time of year, we have special funds which accept donations. Please use this link via Realm and click on the drop down menu to select a fund you wish to support.
IRS regulations require that deductions for charitable contributions be claimed in the year the gift is received. Please mail or deliver your gift (including stock gifts) to St. Thomas’ Church, Whitemarsh so that it will be received on or before December 31. Gifts received after December 31 will be recorded in the year received, unless they are received by mail and postmarked by December 31 of the prior year.
