T H E B A R N
The mission of the Barn at St. Thomas is to follow our Baptismal Covenant by doing service for others. The Barn receives donations of gently worn clothing, art, jewelry, bric-a-brac, small furniture, toys, and books, and holds sales every second Saturday (May through November) to raise money for outreach. Last year, Barn sales raised more than $225,000. Proceeds from Barn sales go to organizations that focus on the well-being (hunger, housing, and education) of families and children.
With over 120 volunteers in 12 departments (Art, Books, Bric-a-brac, Café, Cinderella, Furniture, Outdoor Marketplace, Jewelry, Men’s, Sports, Top Shop, and Toys), The Barn not only supports Outreach but helps to nurture the spiritual growth of parishioners of all ages.
Some of the worthy organizations we support include: Community of St. James, Mitzva Circle, Laurel House, Pac-a-Thon, Family Promise Montco PA, Stand with Iraqi Christians, Our Little Roses School in Honduras, Honduras Water Mission, Face to Face, Tree House Books, and Mattie Dixon Community Cupboard. The Outreach Committee awards financial support to organizations that focus on families and children, hunger and housing, and education.
Sales of donated items at the Barn are conducted every second Saturday May through November.
